B i o g r a p h y

Originally from Millbury Massachusetts in Worcester County, Kevin initially began his private study of music as a cellist at the Royal Academy for Performing Arts. At Sacred Heart University, Kevin was a founding member of SHU String Ensemble where he received coaching and instruction from Janet Boughton. Kevin has played with the Hamden Symphony,  the Old Post Road Orchestra, and the Quincy Symphony.  Kevin has worked with conductors Vesna Mehinovic (first female conductor of Bosnia and Herzegovina), William Boughton, Dr. John Michniewicz, Joe Utterback, Juli Sansoucy, and Diane Pollard and has collaborated with composers such as Bruce Neely The Banquet (2013) and Janet Banerjee Forever (2012).

 

Kevin has a passion for playing music in a variety of settings both as a soloist and also in orchestra and chamber groups.  Kevin believes in the value of musical outreach through musical therapy and has also participated in educational programs such as OPRO Children’s Concert: Composers in Space with “Strings and Friends,” founded by Elaine Holdsworth, directed by Denise Gendron (March 2013).  Kevin believes that everyone can benefit from the broadened and open mindset of studying arts and music.
